With over 110,000 students, University of the People has become more than just an online-learning platform. It has gained university-level status. In fact when I applied to top Canadian universities, the degree from UoPeople was accepted as a legit degree. The students who completed their Associates degree from University of the People could transfer to Canadian universities like McGill University, Queens University, York University, McMaster University, Ryerson University, University of Waterloo provided they have a good GPA. Canadian colleges mainly are popular among the students from Middle class families in developing countries. Universities tend to charge very high tuition rate with average international tuition being 30,000 CAD for bachelors programs.
